Clutching at Straws Music is proud
to be involved in Glyn Bailey's masterly musical adaptation of D.H. Lawrence's
life.
It was on a ship in the Indian Ocean that Glyn first conceived the idea of writing
a musical about D.H. Lawrence and seven years later his work is coming to fruition.
The first performance was held in Eastwood, Lawrence's birthplace with Garth
Bardsley taking the title role.
The other lead roles were Diane Atherton (Jessie Chambers),Helen Goldwyn (Lydia
Lawrence), Christiane Noll (Frieda von Richtofen), Richard Lyndon (Arthur Lawrence),Tony
Oakley (Doctor, Mine Owner, Priest and other roles) and David Rose (Narrator).
The Musical Director was Ricki Holmes and the Director was Keith Thomas.
